Southwestern offers Autobiography Writing online

Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering aspiring writers the opportunity to share their life experiences and learn the craft of memoir writing from the comfort of their own homes.

For Winter Term, the college is offering WR 250 Autobiography Writing online. Through the course, students can work with English Professor Sally Harrold on a chapter or two of their autobiography and read excerpts of published autobiographies and memoirs to help them understand the possibilities of the form. The online format allows students the opportunity to work at their own pace and still enjoy the input of a writing peer group.

Students can complete the course for three college level writing credits or take the course for personal enrichment for no college credit at half the tuition. The registration deadline is Friday.

For more information or to register, those interested can call the Southwestern Oregon Community College First Stop Center at (541) 888-7352. Online registration also is available at http://www.socc.edu.
