Southwestern plans 46th Anniversary Celebration

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Laker Club Alumni Association is hosting a 46th Anniversary Celebration for the College from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the Rec Center on the Coos Bay campus.

Activities will begin with a pep rally and introductions of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and the free event will include food, raffles, games, face-painting, prizes and Laker trivia.

Participants also will be able to attend the men’s and women’s basketball games that night when the Lakers battle Umpqua Community College. The women’s game tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7. All interested students, alumni and community members are invited to attend this momentous occasion for Southwestern.

The Laker Club is a free organization chartered to provide opportunities for past and present Southwestern students to remain engaged with the College and each other. Members receive periodic e-mail newsletters, invitations to special College events and other perks.
