Course to explore human and canine communicationSouthwestern Oregon Community College will be offering a community enrichment course during Spring Term to delve into the communication dynamic between humans and dogs. “Exploring Communications Between Humans and Canines” is based on modern communication theory and explores the interactive process that enables cooperative relationships between humans and canines. The class is designed to meet the needs of professional dog handlers, veterinary medicine specialists, dog owners, prospective dog owners and individuals who fear dogs. The 11-week course – scheduled throughout Spring Term from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays at Sitkum Hall, Room 12, on the Southwestern campus in Coos Bay – is taught by John Lee-Thiem with the help of a canine co-instructor.
