Certified flagger training course set in Curry County

Road construction projects in Curry County are creating a need for certified traffic control flaggers, so Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a training class in Brookings later this month.

The Traffic Control Flagger training course is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at the Southwestern Brookings Center, 420 Alder St., in Brookings and meets the Oregon Department of Transportation requirements for traffic control flaggers. Those who complete the course will receive certification as traffic control flaggers. The course also covers re-certification.

The cost to attend is $80, which includes all materials, and pre-registration and payment is required. Space is limited. For more information or to register, those interested can call the Southwestern Brookings Center at (541) 469-5017 or the Gold Beach Center at (541) 247-2741.
