Children’s art show set at Pony Village Mall

Southwestern Oregon Community College Early Childhood Education practicum students are partnering with the Coos County Commission on Children and Families and Pony Village Mall to offer the Coos County Children’s Art Exhibition.

The event, celebrating the Week of the Young Child, is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at Pony Village Mall and will include free art activities for children 8 and younger, offered by Southwestern practicum students.

Children are encouraged to submit their own original artwork in categories including drawing, painting, collage and three-dimensional. Each child may enter one work per category for a total of up to four submissions. Parents and teachers can submit children’s art from 10 a.m. to noon the day of the event, and the person turning in the work is responsible for hanging or displaying it. Artwork can be picked up after the show between 5 and 6 p.m.
