Southwestern has CARE Connections grant renewedSouthwestern Oregon Community College CARE Connections recently received a renewal of its Oregon Lifespan Respite Care Program grant. The state of Oregon Department of Human Services, Seniors and People with Disabilities Office is funding the $24,850 grant. Working in partnership with the Coos County Retired Senior Volunteers Program, Oregon Coast Community Action and other local organizations and agencies, CARE Connections will use the funds to continue serving as a central point of contact for access to and information about lifespan respite care services and trainings for these services in Coos and Curry counties. “It’s a system for training providers in the community and referral,” Family Center Director Laurie Potts said. “It’s a resource and referral that goes from age 0 through the lifespan.” Press Release Date: May 22, 2007
