Southwestern hosts First Aid courses in Curry County

Southwestern Oregon Community College is hosting an American Red Cross class covering standard First Aid and safety in April and May in Curry County.

The course will cover easy-to-learn emergency procedures that prepare individuals to overcome reluctance to act in emergency situations. Participants learn to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory, cardiac and First Aid emergencies involving children and adults. One-day sessions will be offered the following locations and times:

• Port Orford City Hall from 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 19;
• Southwestern Gold Beach Center from 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 26; and
• Southwestern Brookings Center, from 9 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.
