Southwestern Theatre Department plans showcase

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Theatre Department is presenting its annual showcase at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6, in the Hales Center for the Performing Arts on the campus in Coos Bay.

Several student-directed 10-minute plays will be presented back-to-back with a lineup including the comedy “Wham Bam,” in which Batman and Superman’s wife meet for a surreptitious hotel affair; David Ives’ “The Philadelphia”; Christopher Durang’s “Naomi in the Livingroom”; and an original student work by Peter Wilson and Justin McCarley.
