Southwestern names Laker Club Charter Members

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Foundation unveiled the new Laker Club alumni association at its annual membership meeting last week at Oregon Coast Culinary Institute.

In addition to naming the Laker Club Charter Members, introduced by Laker Club President John Breuer, the Foundation membership also heard reports on the past year’s accomplishments and plans for the future. A slate of officers was elected, including Dick Vigue, Board Chair; Bill Lansing, Vice Chair; Doug Fletcher, Treasurer; and Jean Kyle, Secretary. Coquille resident Dorothy Heagy, a life-long educator who as served on the Southwestern Board of Education as well as the Foundation Board, was named Laker of the Year for her contributions to the College and the Foundation. Currently more than 100 individuals are Laker Club Charter Members, and everyone in attendance at the Annual Meeting was invited to join as Charter Members.
