Laker Club drives for 1,009 members in 2009

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Laker Club Alumni Association is kicking off a new initiative designed to encourage participation and growth in the year-old association.

The “1,009 in 2009” initiative sets a goal of registering its 1,009th member before the end of 2009. In its first year of operation, the Laker Club was able to garner more than 600 new members and organization board members are optimistic that the club will grow as word gets around that there is an opportunity for past and present students to network with their peers and remain engaged with the College.

In honor of this special initiative, the Laker Club will be giving free gifts to the 709th, 809th, 909th and 1,009th individuals to sign up for the association. Participants in the free alumni association will enjoy regular e-mail newsletters, opportunities to network and connect with friends and other former Southwestern students as well as invitations to Laker Club activities.
